In a gripping finale to the third Test against Pakistan at the Sydney Cricket Ground, David Warner’s retirement led Australia to a resounding eight-wicket victory, securing a 3-0 whitewash. Following the match, Warner shared a heartfelt moment with Usman Khawaja’s mother, shedding light on their emotional connection.

After ending Day 3 at 68 for seven in the second innings, Pakistan succumbed to just 115 runs, setting Australia a target of 130. Warner, along with Labuschagne, orchestrated a century stand, ultimately sealing the win. Reflecting on the bond with Warner, Khawaja revealed, “My mum loves him. She calls him Shaytan. Devil. Satan.”

Khawaja expressed his admiration for Warner’s playing style and acknowledged the challenge of replacing the seasoned left-hander in the lineup. Amid speculations about Steve Smith potentially opening for Australia, Khawaja advised, “Be yourself, you can’t try to be someone else… Test cricket is a tough place, you go out and do it your own way.”

As Warner bids adieu to Test cricket, his emotional connection with teammates and their families marks the end of an era in Australian cricket.
