Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a unique exploration of Assam’s Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve on Saturday morning. Modi, who arrived in Kaziranga on Friday evening as part of his two-day tour of the state, enjoyed an elephant and jeep safari in the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve.

During his inaugural visit to the UNESCO-declared World Heritage Site, Modi commenced his journey with an elephant ride in the Mihimukh area of the Central Kohora Range, followed by a jeep safari within the same range. The Prime Minister was accompanied by park director Sonali Ghosh and other senior forest officials.

Modi’s itinerary includes his return to Jorhat in the afternoon, where he will inaugurate the ‘Statue of Velar’ (Statue of Bravery), a 125-foot tall statue honoring Ahom warrior Lachit Borphukan.

Later, he will head to Meleng Meteli Poathar in Jorhat, where he is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for central and state projects amounting to approximately 18,000 crore rupees.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to address a public rally before departing for West Bengal after his engagement in Assam.
