In the wake of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) formidable performance in recent assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Saturday that the people’s trust in the government’s promises had been solidified. Addressing the impact of his administration’s initiatives across socio-economic groups, PM Modi, during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, stated that the positive election results validated the effectiveness of what he termed “Modi’s guarantees.”
The PM highlighted the enthusiastic reception of the “Modi ki guarantee waali gaadi” (Modi’s vehicle of guarantees) across the nation. He emphasized that the election outcomes affirmed the credibility of his commitments made during rallies in five poll-bound states in November. During these rallies, Modi framed the government’s promises as guarantees, countering opposition parties, particularly the Congress.
Modi acknowledged the widespread benefits of government schemes, stating that millions of families in villages had gained from various initiatives. He emphasized the elimination of the need for repeated visits to government offices, noting that the government identified beneficiaries and extended benefits to them, fostering trust.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about government schemes, was highlighted by Modi, reaching over 1.25 crore people in more than 40,000 gram panchayats.
Taking a swipe at opposition parties, Modi asserted that past governments prioritized self-interest over public service. He stressed that elections are won by engaging with the people and winning their hearts, cautioning against underestimating public conscience.
The Congress responded, accusing Modi of hiding failures behind a mythical past and highlighting present challenges, including joblessness and dependency on free ration.
The recent election victories in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh have positioned the BJP favorably ahead of the 2024 general elections. Modi, addressing the party’s success, hinted at a potential hat-trick in the Lok Sabha polls.
In his address, Modi emphasized the BJP government’s commitment to serving people, likening it to the way children serve their parents. He extended a VIP status to every woman, farmer, and young person in the country, cautioning against divisive politics targeting women.
As political dynamics continue to unfold, the BJP’s recent triumphs have set the stage for an interesting political landscape in the lead-up to the 2024 elections.
