However, he has added some conditions, including the inclusion of quotas for women from Other Backward Classes and Extremely Backward Classes. Nitish Kumar also criticized the delay in conducting a census, which is necessary for the bill’s implementation. He emphasized the importance of conducting both a census and a caste headcount. Notably, Nitish Kumar has long advocated for a caste census, which has been a contentious issue. The opposition bloc INDIA, led by Nitish Kumar, has promised to conduct a caste census if it comes to power after the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
