Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu disclosed that he has not engaged in dialogue with US President Joe Biden since Biden made critical remarks about Israel’s military actions in response to attacks by Hamas in the Gaza Strip on October 7. Biden characterized Israel’s response as “over the top” and emphasized the need for it to cease.
In a response to Biden’s comments, Netanyahu stated, “I appreciate President Biden’s support for Israel since the beginning of the war. I don’t know exactly what he meant by that.” The Israeli Prime Minister also acknowledged discussions with Biden regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where Biden persuaded Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to allow the passage of humanitarian aid.
