Bihar’s Moin-Ul-Haq Stadium in Patna, currently hosting a Ranji Trophy Elite Group match after a 27-year hiatus, has come under scrutiny due to its dismal condition. The sorry state of the stadium, lacking proper seating and facilities, has prompted former Indian pacer Venkatesh Prasad to express strong disapproval.

In a viral video circulating on social media, the dilapidated state of the stadium is evident, drawing sharp criticism not only from Prasad but also from cricket enthusiasts. The ongoing Elite Group B match between Bihar and Mumbai, featuring players like Sarfaraz Khan and Shivam Dube, witnessed a surge in fan attendance. However, the absence of adequate seating arrangements and the overall deterioration of the stadium infrastructure has sparked widespread disappointment.

Prasad, reacting to the viral video, voiced his discontent, stating, “This is unacceptable. Ranji Trophy is the premiere domestic competition in India, and it’s time all stakeholders realize its value. I don’t see any valid reason for the state association not rectifying this.”

The poor condition of the stadium highlights a broader issue concerning the upkeep of cricketing facilities in certain regions, calling for immediate attention and action from relevant authorities.

As the Ranji Trophy continues to unfold, this incident underscores the need for prioritizing the maintenance and improvement of cricket stadiums to ensure a conducive and dignified environment for players and fans alike.

Cricket enthusiasts and former players alike have expressed their dismay over the neglect of essential facilities at Moin-Ul-Haq Stadium, emphasizing the urgency for corrective measures.
