West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee revealed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi contacted her two days ago regarding the next Opposition alliance meeting. However, she informed Gandhi of her unawareness about the meeting, emphasizing that chief ministers should receive notifications 7-10 days in advance due to their busy schedules.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s absence was attributed to heavy rain and floods in Chennai, preventing him from attending the initially scheduled meeting on Wednesday. Mamata Banerjee expressed understanding, stating that chief ministers cannot leave their states during such critical times.

The opposition bloc’s meeting has been rescheduled to December 17, as confirmed by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Yadav. This decision follows the absence of key leaders, including Nitish Kumar, Arvind Kejriwal, and Akhilesh Yadav, prompting the postponement.

The previous opposition meeting, hosted by Shiv Sena (UBT) President Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai, saw the presence of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and chief ministers from five states. The dynamics within the opposition alliance remain a focal point amid discussions of future strategies.
