In a recent incident, Mumbai Police efficiently apprehended an individual holding an MBA degree, afflicted with schizophrenia, who had issued a threatening call to the venerable industrialist, Ratan Tata. The anonymous caller, expressing concern for Tata’s security, cautioned that he might face a fate akin to former Tata Sons chairman Cyrus Mistry. This prompted Mumbai Police to initiate a comprehensive investigation.

Upon receiving the threat, Mumbai Police promptly mobilized, deploying a specialized team to ensure Ratan Tata’s personal security. Simultaneously, another team was tasked with gathering information about the caller. Through technical support and collaboration with a telecom service provider, the police successfully traced the caller’s location to Karnataka, although his residence was confirmed to be in Pune, as reported by ANI.

Upon reaching the Pune residence, the police discovered that the caller had been missing for the past five days, prompting his wife to file a complaint at the Bhosari police station. Subsequent questioning of the caller’s relatives revealed that he suffered from schizophrenia and had taken the phone used to make the threatening call from someone’s house without informing them.

The individual had contacted the Mumbai Police control room to issue the threat against Ratan Tata. Due to the caller’s diagnosed condition of schizophrenia, the police opted against pursuing legal action. It was revealed that the caller held an MBA in finance and had a background in engineering.

This incident underscores the challenges law enforcement faces in handling threats when mental health conditions are involved. For further updates on this unfolding situation, please visit [Livemint](link-to-article).
