Mumbai: In a startling turn of events, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and major banks, including HDFC and ICICI, received a bomb threat via email today. The sender claimed to have planted bombs at 11 different locations across Mumbai. The threatening email demanded the resignation of RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman over allegations of executing the “biggest scam” in India’s history.

The email, accessed by ABP News, accused the RBI, along with private sector banks, of involvement in a significant financial scam. It explicitly named RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, top banking officials, and several renowned ministers.

Mumbai Police confirmed the receipt of 11 bomb threats at various locations in the city, including RBI’s New Central Building in Fort, HDFC House in Churchgate, and ICICI Bank Towers in BKC. The sender warned that the bombs would detonate at 1:30 PM.

Despite the threats, Mumbai Police conducted thorough investigations at all mentioned locations but found nothing suspicious. A case has been registered, and the probe is underway.

The threatening email concluded by demanding immediate resignations from RBI Governor and the Finance Minister, urging the government to disclose the alleged scam and administer appropriate punishment.

This incident follows a recent pattern of bomb threats targeting prominent institutions in Mumbai.
