Vinod Yadav, the State General Secretary of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has tendered his resignation from the party, citing dissatisfaction over the allocation of Lok Sabha tickets. His discontent stems from not being nominated as a candidate for the Nawada Lok Sabha constituency. Alongside his resignation, Yadav also posted an emotional message on social media.
The formula for seat allocation within the Mahagathbandhan for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections has not yet been finalized. However, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav has begun the process of distributing symbols to the party’s candidates. So far, the RJD has allotted tickets to a total of seven candidates to contest the Lok Sabha elections. This move has left some party leaders disgruntled, particularly those who did not receive tickets.
In light of not receiving a ticket, Vinod Yadav, the State General Secretary of the RJD, has resigned from all positions within the party, including his primary membership. Additionally, he has called for a meeting with the workers of the Nawada Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday.
Yadav’s dissatisfaction stems from recent discussions suggesting that he could have been fielded as a candidate for the Nawada seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. However, in the initial phase, the RJD announced Shravan Kumar as its candidate for Nawada. Following this decision, Vinod Yadav expressed his frustration on social media, accusing the party’s top leaders of adopting a commercial outlook as soon as the election battle commenced. He mentioned his efforts over the past three years to understand the history and geography of the Nawada Lok Sabha constituency, which had garnered praise. He claimed to have been assured of a ticket but was ultimately denied one.
Vinod Yadav has also convened a meeting with local residents and workers on Saturday, where the future strategy will be decided based on the orders of the public.
