New Delhi, In a grand spectacle of unity and diversity, cricketing maestros such as Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma, alongside chess grandmaster Viswanathan Anand, have been extended invitations to the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The 500+ state guest list for the monumental event also features former captains Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, and Anil Kumble.

Sports luminaries from various disciplines, including weightlifter Karnam Malleswari, footballer Kalyan Chaube, and paralympic javelin thrower Devendra Jhanjadia, will grace the occasion. Women cricket captain Mithali Raj, shuttlers Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu, and their trainer Pullela Gopichand are among the esteemed invitees.

While the invitees represent a spectrum of sports, including cricket, chess, and athletics, it remains to be seen how many of these iconic figures will attend the unveiling of the 161-feet-tall pink sandstone shrine. The ceremony, set to be a historic moment, will witness a blend of political figures, actors, industrialists, and sports stars coming together to mark this significant chapter in India’s cultural and religious history.

As the anticipation builds for the auspicious event, the sports fraternity’s presence promises to add a touch of sporting glory to the spiritual occasion.
