The BCCI, led by former pacer Ajit Agarkar, announced this last-minute change, emphasizing their strategic approach to keep options open. The selection committee, in a statement, mentioned that a replacement for Kohli would be revealed “soon.”
Rinku Singh’s inclusion in the India A squad for the second four-day match indicates a keen interest from the selectors in testing his capabilities in red-ball cricket.
