In a poignant moment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Indian dressing room to boost the spirits of the dejected players, including pace sensation Mohammed Shami, after India’s loss to Australia in the World Cup final on Sunday.

Despite Shami’s stellar performance as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament, India faced their only defeat in the final after an impressive run of 10 consecutive wins. PM Modi, along with billions of proud Indians, applauded the team for their remarkable journey.

Captured in an emotional embrace with Shami amid the intense emotions in the dressing room, PM Modi sought to uplift the morale of the players. Shami, who secured 24 wickets in 7 matches, expressed confidence that the team would bounce back from this setback.

PM Modi had previously conveyed his support to the Indian team on social media. The loss, although disappointing, has not dampened the nation’s pride in the team’s stupendous performance throughout the tournament.
