Washington, D.c- The White House has issued a call for prudence and restraint when evaluating recent polls that depict President Joe Biden lagging behind former President Donald Trump, the leading Republican contender. These polls, including a New York Times/Siena survey, indicated that President Biden is trailing Trump in five out of six key battleground states.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre advised the public to exercise caution when considering these poll results. She emphasized that numerous polls would surface, and they should be taken with a degree of skepticism.

US Warns Against Gaza ‘Reoccupation’ as IDF Rejects Cease-Fire

Tel Aviv- As the Israel-Hamas conflict enters its second month, international calls for a ‘humanitarian pause’ have grown, yet Israel remains resistant to such appeals. The Israeli military has initiated operations in Gaza’s major city, an area reportedly housing a significant presence of Hamas operatives.

Despite pleas from various nations, including the United States, for ‘humanitarian pauses’ in the Israel-Hamas war, Israel continues to deny a cease-fire. US President Joe Biden reiterated his call for a pause in the fighting, expressing concerns about the potential expansion of the conflict across the Middle East. However, the Israel Defense Force (IDF) rejected any cease-fire, holding Hamas responsible for non-compliance.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent statements about maintaining Gaza’s security post-Hamas have raised apprehensions about a potential reoccupation of the Palestinian enclave. White House official John Kirby, echoing President Biden’s stance, emphasized that such a reoccupation would not be in Israel’s best interests.

The Israel-Gaza conflict is set to be a prominent topic at the upcoming Group of Seven foreign ministers meeting in Tokyo. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa discussed the issue, emphasizing the importance of a unified response.

While some hostages have been released from Hamas captivity, families of those still held in Gaza express growing concerns for their well-being and safety.

Saudi Arabia is set to host summits of Arab and Islamic nations to address the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The primary objective is to work toward a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

In a symbolic move, Israel will establish a new city named ‘Hanun’ in the area near Gaza where Hamas militants launched attacks in early October. The city will have a diverse population, including both religious and secular communities.

US Vice President Kamala Harris reaffirmed her support for Israel’s right to defend its citizens and combat terrorism during her discussions with Israeli President Isaac Herzog.
