In a mesmerizing display of nature’s beauty, the recent snowfall in Kashmir has painted the region in a pristine white hue, reminiscent of a Hollywood scene. A captivating 48-second video, shared by Mohsin Khan on various platforms, showcases a traditional horse-driven cart, known locally as ‘Tonga,’ navigating the snowy tracks from Rampora village to Anantnag town.

Captioned as “Taangg swaaerr t Sheenuk nazaar, Riwaayat panin barqaraar” – translating to “Horse-cart ride and snowy view, keeping the tradition alive,” the video has gone viral on social media. The enchanting landscape, adorned with glistening orchard trees and a snow-covered road, evokes comparisons to scenes from “The Chronicles of Narnia,” with some viewers expressing that Kashmir surpasses Hollywood in creating scenic effects.

Beyond the picturesque scenery, the video captures the essence of the horse-driven-cart ride – from the rhythmic sound of hooves striking the road to the overall sense of peace and beauty. Users on X have marveled at the surreal winter scene, with one saying, “A Tonga ride this snowfall…Kashmir looks better than Hollywood create scenic effects.”

As the snowfall blankets Kashmir, turning the landscape into a whiteout, the video offers a glimpse into the unique charm of winter in the region. Wordsworth might have written an entire book on such a spectacle, and users on X have expressed awe, stating, “Unreal. Wordsworth would write an entire book on this, had he been alive witnessing this.”

While Kashmir always provides a scenic experience, winter brings its own magic, with this recent snowfall turning the valley into a captivating winter wonderland.
