UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, accompanied by his wife Akshata Murty, daughter of Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy, arrived in Delhi for the G20 summit, and he wasted no time in articulating his objectives in a video titled “Why I’m at the G20.” The video provides glimpses of his arrival in the Indian capital, his interactions with dignitaries such as Union Minister Ashwini Kumar Choubey, a drive through Delhi’s bustling streets, and a visit to the British Council.

In this candid video, Prime Minister Sunak underscores the significance of international collaboration in addressing global challenges. He highlights that countries must work collectively to tackle issues of global importance, emphasizing that the challenges faced by nations cannot be overcome in isolation. Drawing parallels with the cooperative approach witnessed during the COVID-19 pandemic, Sunak stresses the necessity for nations to unite in combating climate change and addressing international concerns, including the ongoing conflict initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Sunak’s sentiments in the video reflect the essence of the G20 and similar summits, where leaders engage in face-to-face discussions to address pressing global issues. He asserts that the decisions made during these gatherings have the potential to yield benefits such as job creation, economic growth, and enhanced security for the citizens of his country.

In an informal exchange with reporters during his visit, Sunak expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome he received in Delhi, acknowledging that his trip held special significance. He humorously noted that he had been referred to as “India’s son-in-law,” a term he hopes was used affectionately.

Rishi Sunak’s participation in the G20 summit signals the importance of international diplomacy and cooperation in navigating the complex challenges facing our interconnected world.
