An undecided Republican from Iowa, Ginny Mitchell, questioned presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy about his Hindu faith during a CNN Townhall. Mitchell expressed concerns about how a Hindu president aligns with the country’s founding principles based on Christianity.

Ramaswamy firmly asserted his Hindu identity, stating, “I won’t be the best President to promote Christianity.” He emphasized the common values between Hinduism and Christianity, highlighting his traditional upbringing that mirrors Christian values.

Addressing doubts about promoting Christianity, Ramaswamy clarified, “No, I would not be the perfect choice for that.” He emphasized that his role is to uphold the values on which America was founded, making faith and patriotism appealing in the country.

In recent rallies, Ramaswamy sought to ease concerns about his religious background, often referencing the Bible and aligning with Donald Trump’s ideas. Despite promoting far-right conspiracy theories, he aims to stand for the values that resonate with a significant Republican constituency.
