In the wake of the recent escalation of the Israel-Palestine conflict, Indian social media has been abuzz with discussions regarding the support of Indian Muslims for Palestine. Amid these debates, IAS officer Shah Faesal emphasized the importance of humanity transcending religious boundaries. He pointed out that violence and terrorism have not benefited anyone in the past and will not aid the Palestinian cause either. Faesal’s remarks came in response to a post claiming that Indian Muslims unequivocally support Palestine in its struggle against what was referred to as ‘Israeli monsters.’

The recent terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel, which resulted in the firing of thousands of rockets and casualties on both sides, was widely condemned. India, as a strategic partner of Israel, expressed solidarity with the country, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi denouncing the attack. The United States and the United Kingdom also condemned the act of terrorism. Meanwhile, countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Iran appeared to support Hamas, while Pakistan and Afghanistan expressed their solidarity with Palestine and called for an end to hostilities.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh issued a warning, asserting that Israel could not provide protection to fellow Arab nations. He indicated that Hamas intended to expand the conflict beyond Gaza into the West Bank and Jerusalem.

Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen), expressed his hopes for peace in the occupied territories of Palestine in the aftermath of the attack.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs defended Hamas’ actions, citing Israel’s disregard for signed agreements and international legitimacy resolutions as factors that had undermined the peace process.

In the midst of these developments, Shah Faesal’s statement serves as a reminder of the broader perspective that transcends religious affiliations in the face of conflict and violence.
