Delhi, The capital woke up to a cold and foggy morning with a minimum temperature of 6.2 degrees Celsius, marking the lowest this season. The spell of dense fog persists across northern India, causing temperatures to drop below zero degrees Celsius in some areas.
The maximum temperature is anticipated to hover around 24 degrees Celsius, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
As of 9 am, the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) stands at 358 (‘very poor’), according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The relative humidity at 8:30 am reached 100 per cent.
Between December 15 and 17, the IMD forecasts light to moderate rainfall in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Mahe. Isolated thunderstorms and lightning are expected, with south Tamil Nadu and Kerala likely to experience isolated heavy rains on December 16 and 17.
Over the next 4-5 days, minimal changes in minimum temperatures are anticipated across most parts of the country.
