New Delhi, In preparation for the January 22 event at the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, stringent security measures have been implemented. The entrances will be equipped with boom barriers, bollards, and CCTV cameras to ensure a secure environment during the significant event, expected to draw a large crowd.

Boom barriers, also known as tyre killers, will be deployed to prevent unauthorized vehicles from entering the premises. CK Srivastava, the Uttar Pradesh Government Construction Corporation general manager, highlighted the security equipment’s purpose to thwart any intrusion during the event, which is anticipated to host VVIPs and dignitaries, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Srivastava explained that if a vehicle passes over Janmabhoomi Path carrying unauthorized items, it will be immediately scanned. In case of a breach, bollards and tyre killers will automatically engage within three seconds, allowing security personnel to apprehend the intruder. This security setup is planned for installation at all entrances to the Ram Temple.

Extensive surveillance will be maintained through CCTV coverage, with central command control centers in both yellow and red zones. These centers will store footage from cameras across the city, with a 90-day recording capacity.

The consecration ceremony, spanning seven days from January 16 to January 22, will culminate in the consecration of the Ram Lala idol. The event is expected to attract visitors from across the country.

Union minister Anurag Singh Thakur emphasized the government’s efforts in promoting religious tourism, citing various projects undertaken in the last decade. Thakur encouraged people to visit Ayodhya for darshan of Lord Shri Ram, especially after the temple opens to the public.
