New Delhi, In a direct response to the government’s ‘White Paper,’ the Congress party has issued a ‘Black Paper’ highlighting what it claims to be the failures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership over the past 10 years. The document aims to bring to light issues such as inflation, unemployment, the plight of farmers, women’s status, and various other concerns, accusing the government of injustice towards all sections of society.

Congress Terms it ‘Black Paper’ on 10 Years of Injustice

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge released the ‘Black Paper,’ asserting that the Congress, which played a pivotal role in the country’s independence, would rescue the nation from the shadows of the BJP’s alleged injustices in 2024. This move comes as the government presented a ‘White Paper’ in the Lok Sabha, reflecting on the NDA’s 10-year tenure.

Kharge Unveils the ‘Black Paper’

Kharge stated that the ‘Black Paper’ addresses social, economic, and political injustices during Modi’s governance. The party accuses the government of damaging the country’s economy, increasing unemployment, and ruining the agricultural sector. The document further claims a rise in crimes against women and severe injustices against minorities. It accuses the government of remaining silent on rising prices of essential commodities like petrol and diesel.

Serious Allegations Against Modi Government

The ‘Black Paper’ alleges that social, economic, and political injustices prevailed during Modi’s tenure. The party accuses the government of jeopardizing the nation’s economy, escalating unemployment, and devastating the agricultural sector. Crimes against women are said to have increased, and the document criticizes the government’s silence on soaring prices of essential commodities.

UPA Government’s Critique Against Modi Government

Interestingly, just before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Modi-led government, in a ‘White Paper,’ criticized the economic activities of the previous UPA government. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented a ‘White Paper’ in the Parliament, blaming the UPA-led government for pushing the Indian economy into a challenging situation due to imprudent fiscal spending, excessive borrowing, and the impact of non-performing assets on banks. The 59-page document outlines various alleged wrong decisions made by the UPA government, claiming that the Indian economy was in a dire state in 2014.

As the political atmosphere intensifies in the run-up to the elections, both the ruling party and the opposition are engaging in a war of words, presenting their narratives to the public.
