New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation for several educational institutions today, with a combined value of ₹13,375 crore. The ceremony, scheduled in Jammu, marks a significant stride in enhancing and developing education and skilling infrastructure nationwide.
The inaugurated projects encompass the permanent campuses of IIT-Bhilai, IIT-Tirupati, and IIT-Jammu, along with the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing in Kancheepuram. Additionally, the Indian Institute of Skills in Kanpur and two campuses of the Central Sanskrit University at Devprayag in Uttarakhand and Agartala in Tripura are part of the initiative.
PM Modi will also unveil three new IIMs in Jammu, Bodh Gaya, and Visakhapatnam, alongside inaugurating 20 new buildings for Kendriya Vidyalayas and 13 Navodaya Vidyalayas at various locations. The foundation stone for five Kendriya Vidyalaya campuses, one Navodaya Vidyalaya campus, and five multipurpose halls for Navodaya Vidyalayas across the country will be laid.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Vijaypur (Samba) in Jammu. Established under the Central sector scheme Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, the institute spans over 227 acres and comes at a cost of over ₹1,660 crore. The state-of-the-art hospital is equipped with 720 beds, a medical college with 125 seats, a nursing college with 60 seats, and an AYUSH block with 30 beds.
This initiative is a crucial step toward advancing education and healthcare infrastructure, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.
