As the forthcoming G20 Summit looms on the horizon, Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner, Andalib Elias, has affirmed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s participation in the prestigious event scheduled for September 9th and 10th in the nation’s capital. The announcement of Prime Minister Hasina’s presence at the summit signals the intent to bolster diplomatic relations between the two nations. Furthermore, the anticipation of a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina adds a layer of significance to the proceedings.

The G20 Leaders’ Summit will convene at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Centre at Pragati Maidan, projecting itself as a platform for meaningful discussions among eminent heads of state and diplomatic dignitaries. Distinguished personalities including US President Joe Biden, Chinese Premier Xi Jinping, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and French President Emmanuel Macron are among the illustrious attendees.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his recent “Mann Ki Baat” radio broadcast, articulated India’s readiness to host the G20 Summit. This momentous occasion, held under India’s presidency of the G20, is expected to showcase India’s burgeoning potential and burgeoning global influence.

In a gesture of camaraderie, India-Bangladesh Maitri Sangha organized a commemorative gathering to mark the 48th martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu and the National Mourning Day of Bangladesh. The event was solemnly designed to express solidarity and empathy with the Bangladeshi community in the wake of the tragic assassination of the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The event, graced by the presence of Member of Parliament Mahbubul Alam Hanif and dignitaries from both India and Bangladesh, symbolized a unified stand against such acts of brutality. Noteworthy attendees, including Bangladesh Deputy High Commissioner Andalib Elias and Bangladesh Pratidin Editor Naem Nizam, lent credence to the event’s importance.

Amid the diplomatic initiatives, Member of Parliament Mahbubul Alam Hanif took the opportunity to extend felicitations to India for the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on August 23rd. This remarkable achievement, culminating in the Vikram lander’s descent onto the lunar surface, resonated as a momentous accomplishment in India’s journey in space exploration. The successful landing, placing India in the esteemed company of the US, China, and Russia as the fourth country to achieve this feat, reflects the culmination of meticulous endeavors by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

India’s achievement further commands attention as the pioneer to achieve a soft landing on the south side of the moon, an unparalleled accomplishment that immortalizes the nation’s prowess in space exploration.
