In a shocking incident, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose strongly criticized the attack on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials in Sandeshkhali by supporters of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Sheikh Shajahan. The ED team faced violence during a raid on Thursday night while investigating an alleged ration scam involving block-level leaders of the ruling TMC.

Bose summoned Chief Secretary BP Gopalika, Home Secretary Nandini Chakraborty, and Director General of Police Rajiv Kumar, vowing to explore constitutional options and take appropriate action. He emphasized that Bengal is not a banana republic and urged the government to halt barbarism and vandalism in a democracy.

Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury criticized the TMC, stating that the attack on ED officials highlighted the absence of law and order in the state. Meanwhile, West Bengal BJP President Sukanta Majumdar demanded an NIA probe into the incident.
