This comprehensive report, which also shed light on the issue of migration from Bihar, disclosed that 45.78 lakh individuals have sought employment in other states, and an additional 2.17 lakh have ventured abroad in pursuit of opportunities.

The report, officially presented in both Houses of the Legislature, disclosed that out of the 13.07 crore population, a significant 12.48 crore residents do not own any vehicle whatsoever.

“Merely 49.68 lakh individuals, constituting approximately 3.8% of the population, are in possession of two-wheelers, while only 5.72 lakh people, or 0.11%, can lay claim to four-wheelers. A mere 1.67 lakh people, or 0.13%, own tractors,” the report stated.

In a demographic breakdown, it was observed that 11.99 lakh out of the 2.01 crore individuals belonging to the general category are owners of two-wheelers.

Additionally, among the 2.17 lakh individuals who have ventured abroad, 23,738 are engaged in higher studies. Notably, of those working overseas, 76,326 are from the general category.

Concurrently, a significant 45,78,669 residents of Bihar, equating to 3.5% of the population, are gainfully employed in other states.
