In Patna, scattered rainfall was reported in parts of northern and central Bihar on Thursday. During this period, there may be a partial decrease in temperature, while southern Bihar will continue to remain dry. The prevailing hot winds are expected to persist. This change in weather is attributed to the cyclonic circulation over eastern Bihar, with the influence of the western disturbance expected to be seen from April 20th onwards. Therefore, Bihar is witnessing this change in weather pattern. After April 20th, the state may experience dry weather conditions once again.
Heatwave-like conditions were observed in many places in southern Bihar on Thursday. As a result, the maximum temperatures recorded in various cities were as follows: Rohatas – 40 degrees Celsius, Sheikhpura – 41.2, Nawada – 40.1, Banka – 40.5, and Siwan – 41 degrees Celsius. Other cities like Gaya, Madhubani, Aurangabad, and Khagaria recorded temperatures around 40 degrees Celsius. According to IMD’s official estimates, Bihar has received 31.6 millimeters of rainfall so far in April, which is 119% above normal. The normal rainfall for April is 14.4 millimeters.
In the coming days, temperatures are expected to rise further, with daytime temperatures reaching up to 40-41 degrees Celsius in some areas. In Muzaffarpur, people are suffering due to hot winds blowing at speeds exceeding 15 kilometers per hour during the day. The situation of heatstroke has arisen. The weather department’s forecast indicates a heatwave situation during the afternoon. The temperature continues to rise day by day. Due to the heat, the streets are deserted during the afternoon. People are only venturing out when absolutely necessary. In the evening, markets also witness crowds. According to the weather department’s forecast, the maximum temperature recorded on Wednesday was 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 21.5 degrees Celsius. The weather department’s forecast indicates a possibility of daytime temperatures reaching 40 to 41 degrees Celsius in the next four days.
