Patna-Muzaffarpur: The state is reeling under the onslaught of the wrath of fire. In the past 24 hours, nearly a dozen incidents of fire have occurred. Six people have died due to burns, and several others are injured.
Fire incidents have resulted in the destruction of wheat crops. Wheat crops spread over 250 acres in Rosra and Shivajinagar of Samastipur have been ruined. In Ahijapur, Muzaffarpur, 80-year-old Jay Narayan Mishra succumbed to burns. Additionally, a two-and-a-half-year-old girl, Neha Kumari, perished in the flames in Soti Bheriyahi of Kanti block, Muzaffarpur.
Cylinder Blast Claims Lives of Siblings: In Gopalganj’s Mahammadpur area, a fire broke out engulfing 10 houses. Two children died in the blaze, while one person sustained serious injuries. The deceased were identified as Nishani Kumari (6 years old) and Kuldeep Kumar (2 years old), children of Brajesh Mahato.
Wheat Crop and Homes Reduced to Ashes: In Rustampur village, Ward No. 5 of Vaishali, Dayanand Rai’s 10-year-old daughter Alia succumbed to burns. Meanwhile, several houses were gutted in the incident, resulting in the death of three cows and severe injuries to two others.
Wildfire Ravages VTR Forest: The rising temperatures and strong gusts of wind have intensified incidents of fire in the forest areas of VTR (Valmiki Tiger Reserve). On Tuesday, the perennial forest in Madanpur of the Madanpur forest area was engulfed in flames and destroyed. The rapid spread of fire posed challenges to firefighting efforts. Forest and wildlife are adversely affected by these incidents.
Authorities are investigating the cause of these fires, while efforts are underway to control the situation and minimize further damage.
