In a demonstration outside the Himachal Pradesh Assembly in Dharamshala, BJP leaders, adorned with aprons displaying the unfulfilled guarantees, voiced their discontent with the Congress government’s alleged failure to deliver on its promises. The BJP legislators accused the government of reneging on commitments made during its ascent to power in 2022.

The guarantees, including 300 units of free electricity, ₹1,500 monthly allowance for women, creation of five lakh new jobs, establishment of English medium schools, and initiatives to boost farmers’ income, remain unfulfilled, according to the BJP MLAs.

Highlighting the financial aspect, BJP leader Thakur disclosed that the Congress government has incurred a loan of ₹12,000 crore within a year, leading to the termination of over 10,000 outsourced employees. The leaders further claimed that the state’s development has stagnated, with more than 100 educational, revenue, health, and other institutions being shut down by the government.

Accusing the Congress government of betrayal, BJP leaders asserted that only the guarantees given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi are being fulfilled, emphasizing the Prime Minister’s credibility as a “man of his word.”

The five-day winter session of the state Assembly is scheduled to conclude on December 23.
