Lucknow, Residents are advised to prepare for colder nights ahead as the state meteorological department forecasts a drop of 2-3 degrees in minimum temperatures next week. While moderate fog is expected during the mornings, bright sunshine in the daytime is anticipated to provide relief from the chilly conditions.
Mohammad Danish, a senior scientist at the state meteorological department, stated, “No significant change in temperatures is expected till Monday. However, northwesterly cold winds from the hill regions of the country will intensify from Tuesday, leading to a drop in mercury levels during the night by 2-3 degrees.”
The maximum temperature recorded on Saturday was 24.1 degrees Celsius, slightly above normal, with a minimum temperature of 9.7 degrees Celsius. Similar weather conditions are expected on Sunday and Monday. However, a decrease in the minimum temperature is forecasted for Tuesday and further by a degree on Wednesday.
This weather pattern is anticipated to affect other parts of the state as well. December, typically a prime winter month, started with unusually high temperatures during the night for the first ten days. However, a change in wind patterns brought temperatures back to normal levels thereafter.
