Patna, The Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna witnessed scenes of chaos as dense fog led to the cancellation of four flights and delays in several others. The airport has experienced disruptions in flight operations over the past few days due to poor visibility.
Passengers faced extended waits in the security hold area, with flight cancellations affecting four IndiGo flights, including two bound for Delhi and one each for Hyderabad and Ranchi. In addition to these cancellations, delays were reported for nine flights operated by various airlines.
Affected passengers were urged by airlines to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport to avoid unnecessary inconvenience. The chaos left the waiting hall crowded, with some passengers sitting on stairs due to limited seating.
Among the delayed flights, five belonged to IndiGo (two each for Delhi and Mumbai and one for Hyderabad), two to Air India (one each for Delhi and Mumbai), and one Delhi-bound flight operated by SpiceJet.
A total of 24 flights operated at Patna airport on Thursday, with IndiGo accounting for 17, Air India for three, and SpiceJet and Vistara each operating two flights.
Similar disruptions were experienced at Darbhanga airport, where four out of six flights were delayed due to poor visibility.
