Patna,  The cold weather tightens its grip on Bihar as Gaya experiences a chilling low of 10.0°C, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) report. The state is under the influence of westerly winds, leading to dry weather conditions. Minimum temperatures are expected to hover between 10-12 degrees in northwestern, southwestern, and southcentral parts, including Patna, while the rest of the state may see temperatures between 12-14 degrees Celsius.

Kumar Gaurav from the Patna Meteorological Centre mentioned, “Dry weather persists across the state, with maximum and minimum temperatures averaging at 25.2°C and 13.4°C, respectively. The influence of westerly winds is expected to continue, maintaining dry conditions in the next 24 hours. Additionally, light to moderate fog is anticipated in most parts of the state during mornings.”

In terms of air quality, Patna experiences a decline after Michaung-induced rainfall. The city’s 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) is 248, categorizing it as ‘poor.’ Among monitoring stations, Muradpur records the highest AQI at 303, followed by Danapur (295), Shikarpur (205), and Rajbansi Nagar (191). Bihar remains one of the most polluted states, with several cities recording AQIs above 300 in the ‘very poor’ category.

Delhi witnesses a minimum temperature of 8.5 degrees Celsius, with an AQI measured at 322, categorizing it as ‘very poor.’ The city experiences misty conditions, with expected maximum and minimum temperatures settling around 24 and 9 degrees Celsius, respectively.
