Delhi, The air quality in Delhi continues to be in the ‘very poor’ category, with a recorded Air Quality Index (AQI) of 316 at 7:00 am, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Despite a temporary improvement to the ‘poor’ category after rainfall on December 3, the capital city slipped back into the ‘very poor’ range from Friday onwards.

Delhi secured the seventh position in the list of the top 10 most polluted cities across India. Various locations in Delhi reported air quality in the ‘very poor’ and ‘poor’ categories, with Nehru Nagar registering the worst AQI at 378 and Dilshad Garden displaying the best air quality at an AQI of 223, falling into the ‘poor’ range.

While Delhi faced pollution challenges, locations in the National Capital Region, including Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram, showed better air quality, ranging from ‘poor’ to ‘very poor.’ However, Faridabad recorded an AQI of 308, placing it in the ‘very poor’ category.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported a temperature of 8.4 degrees Celsius in Delhi at 7:00 am, with a prediction of mainly clear skies and mist or shallow fog in the morning. The weather conditions are expected to persist until December 12, with no rainfall anticipated in the National Capital during this period.

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai mentioned the lifting of Graded Response Action Plan (Grap-3) restrictions, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring strict implementation of Grap-1 and 2 restrictions.
