Patna, In the midst of preparations for the inauguration of the new Ram temple in Ayodhya, Bihar’s senior minister, Ashok Choudhary, made a controversial statement asserting that India’s democracy is robust because of the historical rule of the Mughals. He emphasized that unlike the British, the Mughals didn’t deplete the country’s wealth.
Choudhary, close to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, criticized the BJP for what he perceived as the politicization of the Ram temple. He urged the government to address pressing issues like inflation and unemployment, expressing surprise at the focus on the temple inauguration amid rising unrest.
In response to BJP’s claims about the weakening of JD(U), Choudhary dismissed them as “nonsense” and asserted the party’s unity.
