New Delhi, In a significant boost to indigenous mapping technology, Mumbai-based Genesys International has secured a ₹22 crore contract from Adani Group’s Portsmouth Buildcon Private Ltd. The project entails the deployment of Genesys’ state-of-the-art digital twin mapping technology for the redevelopment initiative in Dharavi, Asia’s largest slum cluster.

The contract, valued at ₹22 crore (excluding GST), underscores Genesys’ standing as a leader in mapping innovation. The ambitious undertaking is expected to transform Dharavi’s landscape and urban planning within nine months, aligning with Mumbai’s overarching goal of revitalizing key areas.

Genesys will leverage its Oyster 3D Maps platform, renowned for precision and innovation, to execute this complex project. The digital twin mapping initiative is part of a broader effort to push the boundaries of mapping technology, aligning seamlessly with Mumbai’s urban development objectives.

This development follows Genesys’ recent strategic collaboration with Survey of India (SoI) for a three-dimensional (3D) digital twin-mapping program in India. The company’s unique position as the first to enter into a public-private agreement with SoI for digital twin-mapping further solidifies its role in transformative geospatial projects.

Sajid Malik, CMD of Genesys International, highlighted the complexity of the Dharavi project, emphasizing the advantage of digital twin mapping technology in tackling challenging terrains. He expressed the project’s significance for social and financial inclusion, stating that mapping a society or area creates opportunities to improve lives.

Genesys has extended its reach beyond Dharavi, undertaking digital twin mapping projects in various Indian cities, including Ayodhya, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Surat. The company has also secured the digital twin project for the holy shrine of Mecca, as commissioned by the Saudi government.

This marquee mapping project exemplifies Genesys’ unwavering commitment to advancing mapping technology. The successful execution of such transformative initiatives reinforces Genesys International’s position as a global leader in cutting-edge geospatial solutions.
