In a significant political development, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has successfully formed the government in Bihar, with Nitish Kumar taking oath as the Chief Minister for the ninth time. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Raj Bhavan, where Nitish Kumar pledged to uphold the responsibilities of the Chief Minister’s office.
The oath ceremony witnessed enthusiastic chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Nitish Kumar Zindabad.” Nitish Kumar, the national president of the Janata Dal (United), secured support from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the sixth time in his Chief Ministerial journey.
Following Nitish Kumar, Samrat Choudhary, the state president of BJP, assumed office and took the oath of confidentiality. Subsequently, Vijay Kumar Sinha, also from BJP, was invited to take the oath. Vijay Sinha, after swearing in, nominated Vijay Kumar Choudhary from the Janata Dal (United) quota to take the oath as a minister.
Bijendra Yadav, the experienced politician who has served in various crucial ministries in Nitish Kumar’s previous governments, followed Vijay Choudhary in taking the ministerial oath. Prem Kumar, a BJP representative from Gaya, also joined the ministerial ranks.
Exploring the new Deputy CM, Samrat Choudhary, his political journey, and the composition of Nitish Kumar’s cabinet, Santosh Kumar Suman, Shrawan Kumar, and Sumit Kumar were also sworn in as ministers.
Shrawan Kumar, a close associate of Nitish Kumar, accepted the invitation to become the seventh minister. Meanwhile, Santosh Kumar Suman, the HAM party’s organizational head, and Sumit Kumar Singh, an independent MLA from Jamui, were given ministerial responsibilities.
Nitish Kumar’s cabinet reflects a diverse caste representation:
