During a meeting with the Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, at the Global AI Summit in Britain, entrepreneur and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk disclosed an interesting detail about his son’s name. Musk’s son’s middle name, “Chandrasekhar,” pays tribute to the renowned Nobel Prize-winning physicist, Professor S. Chandrasekhar, who received the Nobel Prize in 1983. The child’s mother, Shivon Alice Zilis, a Canadian venture capitalist specializing in technology and artificial intelligence, shared this unique connection with India.

Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar confirmed this revelation in a tweet, stating, “With @elonmusk at #GlobalAISummit Great to meet him and hear from him on #AI #Space #climate #world.” He also mentioned that Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis chose the middle name “Chandrasekhar” in honor of their child’s heritage and the contributions of the remarkable Indian physicist.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar was attending the Global AI Summit, an event that brings together policymakers, investors, and innovators to discuss the current state of artificial intelligence, investment opportunities, commitments, and governance. During the summit, Chandrasekhar highlighted India’s significant progress in the digital economy, emphasizing the nation’s efforts to expand its digital economy, which currently contributes 11% of the GDP, with the goal of reaching 20% by 2025-26.

Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, made a prominent appearance at the summit. He underscored the critical importance of AI safety, acknowledging it as one of the most significant existential risks due to the rapid pace of technological advancement.

The summit concluded with an engaging joint Q&A session between Elon Musk and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in London. Furthermore, the United Kingdom, along with global partners, announced an ã80 million project aimed at funding AI initiatives worldwide, starting in Africa. This collaborative initiative, involving the UK, Canada, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, aims to promote “safe and responsible” AI development. The UK AI for Development Programme is set to contribute ã38 million to support cutting-edge technology partnerships addressing global challenges.

Elon Musk’s revelation about his son’s Indian connection and the discussions at the Global AI Summit highlight the growing importance of AI and technology in the modern world.
