New Delhi:As the peak winter season approaches, Delhi has secured the unenviable position of the most polluted city in India. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded 377 at 9:30 am, falling into the ‘very poor’ category.

Despite a temporary shift to the ‘poor’ category following rain on December 3, Delhi’s air quality quickly regressed to ‘very poor’ levels. With the advent of winter, pollution levels in the national capital are on the rise, causing concern among residents.

Various locations across Delhi reported ‘very poor’ to ‘severe’ air quality levels. Wazirpur recorded the worst air quality with an AQI of 430, while Dilshad Garden remained the only area categorized as ‘poor’ with an AQI of 288.

The deteriorating air quality is a significant challenge as the city grapples with pollution levels affecting health and daily life. Efforts to address this issue continue, with initiatives aimed at curbing pollution and improving overall air quality.
