New Delhi,In the lead-up to the highly anticipated IPL auction on December 19, South African cricketer Rilee Rossouw, currently playing for Delhi Bulls in Abu Dhabi T10, anticipates a bidding war for his services. Rossouw, who represented Delhi Capitals in the last IPL season, has expressed his optimism about attracting bids, with a particular interest in potential offers from Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders.

In the previous IPL auction, Delhi Capitals secured Rossouw for ₹4.60 crore, reflecting their confidence in his batting prowess. However, despite contributing 209 runs in 9 matches, Rossouw and DC faced challenges, leading to his release from the franchise along with other players.

Speaking on his expectations for the upcoming auction, Rossouw stated, “I did well with the Knights team in the American League. So it would be nice if it would be a little bit of a bidding war. I mean, that would be ideal for myself.”

While Rossouw’s recent form has been inconsistent, his impactful innings in various leagues, including Major League Cricket, adds to his appeal in the IPL auction. The hard-hitting left-hander emphasized that irrespective of the franchise he plays for, his goal remains to perform exceptionally well.

Rossouw’s perspective on the IPL highlighted its grandeur, describing it as a league that operates on a “bigger canvas.” He acknowledged the extensive marketing efforts, fan engagement, and the league’s consistent growth over the years, positioning it as one of the best T20 leagues globally.

In the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10, where Rossouw represents Delhi Bulls, he faced challenges with the pitches offering more to bowlers than expected. Despite the additional difficulty, Rossouw emphasized the need for batters to adapt and play more conventional shots in T10 cricket.

Looking ahead, Rossouw has his sights set on a comeback in the T20 World Cup, expressing confidence in his potential selection. While he remains in touch with the coach, Rossouw emphasized the importance of delivering strong performances to bolster his case for national team inclusion.

As South Africa gears up for the series against India, with Aiden Markram leading the team, Rossouw sees an advantage for South Africa. However, he anticipates a closely contested battle against a talented Indian side, acknowledging the emergence of promising young talents in South African cricket.
