New Delhi, The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a dense fog alert for isolated areas in five states. According to the IMD statement, dense morning fog is expected in isolated pockets over North Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya on both December 10 and 11.
The alert coincides with the approach of a fresh feeble Western disturbance, anticipated to impact the Western Himalayan Region starting December 11. Additionally, the IMD predicts the possibility of hailstorms in isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on December 12.
Meanwhile, the cyclonic circulation of Michaung, which affected Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, has weakened, transforming into a low-pressure area in Jharkhand. Meteorologist AE Kujur from the IMD Ranchi reports light to moderate rainfall across the state due to this transformation.
In other weather updates, the IMD forecasts light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal during the next 2-3 days. The IMD Chennai predicts similar weather conditions over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal until December 15.
Bihar, on the other hand, is expected to experience dense fog engulfing most of the state in the next two days, as per the IMD’s yellow alert issued on Friday.
