New Delhi – In a significant development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the unanimous adoption of the New Delhi G20 Leadership Declaration during the G20 Summit. The global leaders, including United States President Joe Biden, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva, came together to reach consensus on this critical declaration.

The declaration, born out of intense deliberation, primarily focused on addressing the ongoing Ukraine conflict. While Western nations strongly advocated for a robust condemnation of Russia, other countries emphasized broader economic concerns within the declaration.

Prime Minister Modi, in his announcement, expressed optimism: “There is good news. With everyone’s cooperation, consensus has been reached on New Delhi G20 Leadership Declaration…I announce the adoption of this declaration.”

While detailed contents of the declaration remain undisclosed, reports citing the Indian G20 Sherpa suggested that it secured a unanimous agreement across all developmental and geo-political matters.

Notably, an earlier draft of the declaration, revealed on Friday, conspicuously omitted any reference to the Ukraine conflict, leaving the “geopolitical situation” section blank. Nevertheless, leaders managed to find common ground on 75 other paragraphs covering a wide spectrum of issues, ranging from global debt and cryptocurrencies to climate change.

In a separate but equally significant move, India introduced the launch of a Global Biofuel Alliance during the summit. Prime Minister Modi extended an invitation to all G20 leaders to participate in this initiative, highlighting the global need for cleaner fuels.

These developments mark pivotal moments in the G20 Summit, reflecting international cooperation and commitment to addressing complex global challenges.
