The government has introduced the “Mera Bill Mera Adhikar” GST reward scheme in six states and Union Territories, allocating a substantial corpus of Rs 30 crore for fiscal year prizes. Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala revealed that the scheme’s mobile app has already garnered over 50,000 downloads.
Revenue Secretary Sanjay Malhotra disclosed that the “Mera Bill Mera Adhikar” GST reward scheme is being launched as a pilot project in six states, with financial contributions divided equally between the central government and the states.
Malhotra emphasized the positive impact of GST on citizens, customers, and governments, highlighting the consistent rise in monthly revenues. He noted that the current average GST rate of 12 percent surpasses the initially envisioned 15 percent revenue-neutral rate.
The government inaugurated the “Mera Bill Mera Adhikar” scheme on a pilot basis on September 1 in Assam, Gujarat, Haryana, and the Union Territories of Puducherry, Dadra Nagar Haveli, and Daman & Diu.
Under this scheme, there will be 810 lucky draws every month, with 800 lucky draws awarding GST invoices with a prize value of Rs 10,000 each and 10 draws with prizes of Rs 10 lakh each. Additionally, every quarter will feature bumper draws with prizes of Rs 1 crore each.
Malhotra emphasized the importance of GST invoices as a fundamental right, necessary for after-sales service, and emphasized that the scheme’s purpose is to raise awareness among the public.
This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to promoting GST compliance and awareness while rewarding citizens and businesses for their participation.
