32 Crore Tourists Visited UP Within 9 Months, Kashi Most Favourite

Lucknow, In a significant boost to Uttar Pradesh’s standing on the global tourism stage, the state witnessed a remarkable influx of over 32 crore tourists in the first nine months of 2023. This surpasses the total tourist footfall for the entire calendar year of 2022 by a few lakhs.

The official spokesperson announced this achievement on Friday, noting that the total tourist footfall for 2023 is expected to be at least 25% higher than the previous year. In 2022, Uttar Pradesh recorded 31.85 crore tourists, while in the initial nine months of 2023, over 32 crore tourists, including a substantial number of international visitors, explored the state.

Among the various destinations within the state, Kashi emerged as the most favored, attracting the highest number of tourists. Additionally, Prayagraj and Ayodhya witnessed a significant influx of visitors. The period from January to September 2023 saw 31,91,95,206 domestic tourists exploring Uttar Pradesh, accompanied by 9,54,866 foreign tourists.

Uttar Pradesh continues to make strides in diverse sectors, with the tourism sector playing a pivotal role in showcasing the state’s cultural and historical richness.
