Patna, The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) is gearing up to implement an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled system to prevent cheating during the upcoming preliminary examination for 1,275 Sub-Inspector positions on Sunday.

Approximately 660,000 candidates are expected to participate in the preliminary examination scheduled for Sunday, to be conducted in two sessions.

“The BPSSC is utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered systems to identify and prevent cheating, such as impersonation and plagiarism during the examination in all 613 centers across all 38 districts in the state,” stated S Dwivedi, Chairman of BPSSC.

Artificial intelligence-driven systems will utilize facial recognition, eye tracking, and various technologies to monitor students during examinations.

“Candidates will be allowed to enter one and a half hours before the examination, and the gate will be closed half an hour before the commencement of the examination. This time, unique numbering has been done on every page of the question paper to prevent the question paper from going viral,” added Dwivedi.

“All centers will be closely monitored by the Central Command room at BPSSC headquarters in Patna,” he further explained.

Surveillance will cover examinees, invigilators, administrators, and entry-exit points at all centers using 16,500 CCTV cameras integrated with the command-and-control system at the BPSSC headquarters. Candidates will undergo frisking before entering the examination premises, the chairman stated, as reported by PTI.

He emphasized that candidates caught engaging in dishonest practices during the examination would face consequences, leading to disqualification from participating in the Commission’s exams for the next three years.

The Bihar Police recruitment drive aims to fill 1,275 Sub-Inspector positions. Among these, 441 positions are designated for general category applicants, 275 for Scheduled Caste candidates, 238 for Extremely Backward Class (EBC), 111 for Economically Backward Class (EWS), and 107 for Backward Class (BC). Five posts are reserved for transgenders.

The selection process comprises five stages: preliminary written examination, main written examination, physical efficiency test (PET)/physical standards test (PST), document verification, and medical examination.
