The counting of votes commenced at 8 am amid heightened security for the crucial assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Telangana. Early trends indicated the BJP leading in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, while the Congress led in Chhattisgarh and BRS in Telangana.

In a turn of events, the BJP fought back in Chhattisgarh, leading in 47 seats, surpassing the Congress. The Congress held its ground in Rajasthan, leading in 58 out of 119 seats, while the BRS faced a tough battle.
