Ayodhya,  In preparation for the pran pratishtha (consecration) of the Ram Lalla idol on January 22, the sanctum sanctorum complex of the Ram Temple will witness a transformation, with 18 doors being adorned in gold. The Ram Lalla idol will find its abode in the sanctum sanctorum, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to perform the final ritual.

Made from special teakwood sourced from Chandrapur, Maharashtra, and crafted by skilled artisans from Hyderabad, the 46 doors of the Ram temple’s sanctum sanctorum complex will undergo a lavish enhancement. A layer of fine copper will precede the gold plating process, and the entire task is expected to be completed by the first week of January.

Anil Mishra, a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, highlighted that the gold used for this opulent endeavor comes from offerings made by devoted worshippers. The rising number of devotees, particularly since the Ayodhya verdict, has resulted in significant contributions, not only in cash but also in gold, silver, and other precious materials.

Prakash Gupta, the office in charge of the Shri Ramjanmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, assured that the gold-plated doors would be ready within the stipulated timeline. A Ghaziabad-based jeweler’s firm has been entrusted with the responsibility of applying gold plates to the sanctum sanctorum doors.
