Bihar Police Inspector Recruitment 2023: Home Department Greenlights 1,288 Vacancies

In a significant development for law enforcement in Bihar, the Home Department has given its seal of approval for the recruitment of 1,288 Inspector positions within the Bihar Police force. Jitendra Singh Gangwar, the Additional Directorate General of Police at Headquarters, made this announcement during a press conference held at the Police Headquarters in Patna on Monday, September 18.

These coveted Inspector positions will be filled through a combination of direct recruitment and sports quota. Notably, 13 percent of these positions, equivalent to 5 vacancies, will be reserved for individuals demonstrating excellence through the sports quota. The remaining 1,275 positions will be open for direct recruitment, with an empowering 35 percent, or 455 posts, exclusively earmarked for women candidates.

The Bihar Government is poised to issue a comprehensive recruitment notification for these Inspector positions via the service commission in the coming days. Aspiring candidates should anticipate a detailed recruitment advertisement, replete with essential information such as eligibility criteria, age limits, examination patterns, and other pertinent specifics. The examinations for these roles are scheduled to be held on the 1st, 7th, and 15th of October.

To be eligible for Bihar Police SI Recruitment, candidates must possess a minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree. The maximum age limit for general category applicants may be capped at 37 years, with allowances for age relaxations in accordance with government regulations for individuals belonging to reserved categories.
