The Agriculture Department has allocated Rs 1 crore 59 lakh 38 thousand for the next three fiscal years. Farmers will be provided with a 75 percent subsidy per sapling. Apart from benefiting farmers, coconut cultivation will also benefit the general public, as coconut fruit will be readily available at lower prices.

A maximum of 712 saplings will be provided to a beneficiary.

Each beneficiary farmer will receive a subsidy on a minimum of five and a maximum of 712 saplings (178 saplings per hectare). Coconut saplings will be distributed to farmers interested in planting them around their homes, gardens, and fields. Urban dwellers can also avail of this scheme. The land where coconut saplings are planted must be documented. Farmers must be registered on the DBT portal to avail of the scheme.
