In response to recent naval exercises conducted by India and the Philippines in the disputed South China Sea, the Chinese military has raised objections, emphasizing that defense cooperation between nations should not jeopardize the interests of third parties or regional peace.

Senior Colonel Wu Qian, the spokesperson for the Chinese Defense Ministry, stated that China has taken note of these exercises, reiterating the importance of ensuring that such collaborations do not harm the stability of the region.

China has become increasingly uneasy about military partnerships between the Philippines and other nations, particularly as it asserts control over parts of the South China Sea. Tensions have risen, with reported face-offs between Chinese coastguard ships and Philippine navy vessels.

The Philippines Navy accused Chinese ships of using water cannons to attack its vessels this month. The South China Sea is a contested area, with multiple nations, including the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, and Taiwan, making counterclaims.
