New Delhi, The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of Delhi Police Special Cell is actively investigating a case involving a 29-year-old Taiwanese national caught with 67 illegally activated Indian SIM cards and mobile phones. The individual, Jhin Ping Lai, was apprehended by the CISF at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on December 18.

The case, which initially fell under the purview of the Delhi Police Airport unit, has been transferred to the IFSO unit of the Special Cell for a more in-depth examination. Officials are currently interrogating Jhin Ping Lai to determine the source of the SIM cards and the purpose behind possessing over 60 illegal cards.

According to the FIR filed under Section 420 at Delhi IGI Airport on December 18, the confiscated SIM cards of ‘Airtel’ were allegedly obtained using illegal documents of Indian citizens. The FIR stated that the individuals contacted were unaware of these SIM cards.

The investigation aims to uncover the intricacies of the operation, shedding light on the motives and connections of the Taiwanese national. As the probe unfolds, Delhi Police is committed to ensuring the safety and integrity of communication networks within the region.

Stay tuned for updates as the investigation progresses.
