With the New Year approaching, the Delhi Police has implemented special arrangements and deployments across key locations in the capital to ensure public safety during the celebrations. High-security measures will be in place at Connaught Place, India Gate, Aerocity, Mukherjee Nagar, Vasant Kunj Mall, and EDM Mall, covering areas with events and gatherings.

To manage potential traffic congestion on December 31, 2023, special traffic arrangements have been devised. Police personnel will be stationed at malls, cafes, restaurants, and hotels hosting New Year events to prevent any law and order issues.

Special CP Traffic SS Yadav emphasized, “On 31st December, Delhi Police will ensure arrangements and deployment at places where people are expected to gather.” The police will operate in shifts, with the first shift from 5 pm to midnight and the second from 12 am to 6 am.

To curb stunt-biking and hooliganism, Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey declared a strict stance, stating, “I will not allow any motorcycle rider showing stunt or triple riding at any cost.”

Over 10,000 police personnel, including traffic units, will be deployed on the night of December 31, maintaining vigilance in public spaces. Additionally, Delhi Traffic Police plans to deploy around 2,500 personnel to manage traffic, prevent chaos, and address concerns related to drunk driving.
